About Franklin TN

Franklin Tennessee Main StreetLocated just 20 miles south of downtown Nashville, Franklin has been consistently recognized by numerous publications as one of the best places to live in America.

From historic attractions telling the story of the Civil War's Battle of Franklin, to one of the most charming downtowns in the country, Franklin, Tennessee has much to offer families between events.  Locally owned eateries, boutiques and antique stores line the pedestrian-friendly Main Street offering plenty to do for Brownland Farm event patrons.

Dining experiences in Franklin reflect the eclectic nature of the people of Williamson County.  Once a born-and-raised small town, Franklin is now home to people from not only all over the country, but all of the world.  While the city evolves, its heritage and roots in American History remain central to "who" Franklin is.

We are especially fond of Sperry's Restaurant for a fine-dining experience, and for one heck-of-a happy-hour with fantastic (and great priced) food! The owners are horse people through and through, from fox hunting to show jumping.  While one of Franklin's nicest restaurants, they want all exhibitors to feel comfortable coming to their restaurant straight from the farm.  No need to get cleaned up to go back out, just come as you are!!!  Heading to Nashville, they have another location (the original one) in Belle Meade.

Cool Cafe is another one of our favorites, and its a real-deal meat-and-three. Owner, Tim Ness, is a gourmet chef who LOVES the horse show crowd.   All daily dishes, sauces, potato chips, spicy pickles, and on and on are made from scratch.  Tim and Cool Cafe are also a hostess's best friend as they provide exceptional catering services!  Best yet - they are across the street from the show grounds!

Nashville Pizza Company has our family's favorite pizzas.  It's conveniently located in the same Grassland shopping center as Judy's Tack Shop.  If you like authentic thin crust pizza, you'll love their pizza.  A favorite:  the Arti-Gar pizza, which features artichokes and garlic on a white sauce.  Mmmmmmmm, good!  They can even make a gluten-free pizza!

La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant has become one of the longest running Mexican Restaurants in Franklin.  Located across the street from Brownland Farm, they have a lovely patio for al fresco dining during warm weather. Great for sipping a Margarita!

Have a hunkering for some BBQ and live "Nashville-style" music?  Then head a mile from the show grounds to Mickey Roo's Texas Style BBQ.  On nice weather days, go to the patio for  a game of corn-hole or darts.

Just behind Mickey Roo's is another local hotspot, Sakura.  June and Janice run this family-owned sushi and thai cuisine restaurant and welcome all Brownland Farm exhibitors.  Robin's favorite dish? Paradise roll.

If you head into the heart of Brentwood, TN, you absolutely MUST stop in Wild Iris.  Unique dishes, great bar service, and a local feel make this our favorite Brentwood spot.

Do you want to come to Franklin and get a little history lesson?  Well, Franklin On Foot can help you with that!  From the "Haunted Franklin" to the "Murder and Mayhem" tours and then your classic civil war tours, this is the best walking tour in town.  Not sure what you think about Ghosts?  You might believe in them once you go on these tours!!!  Plan a visit for the Autumn Shows, which fall on Halloween!!!!!
